The singer protected her modesty by wearing a bodysuit under the green gown and paired the look with a black floppy hat. The 27-year-old headed out on a dinner date with on-off beau John Mayer on Sunday. They ate at the Pearl Restaurant before heading to New York celebrity favourite Soho House with friends. John kept it casual for the outing, stepping out in a denim jacket and shirt combo and khaki chinos.

Katy - who recently had US President Barack Obama's face painted on her nails - was thought to be single again after reports that she and singer John, 34, had split for a second time last week. However, the pair have seemingly sorted out their differences again as they reunited for the NYC date. Meanwhile, One Direction lover Katy has received a wonderful gift from her pal Cheryl Cole. The Girls Aloud star delivered a set of 1D dolls to Katy as an early birthday gift.
