It was her big chance to shine on the red carpet alongside Run For Your Wife co-stars Sarah Harding and Denise Van Outen. But Kellie Shirley suffered an epic fail as she hit London's Odeon Leicester Square on Tuesday night when she accidentally flashed her underwear and came precariously close to spilling out of her plunging gown altogether. The ex-EastEnders star's evening didn't get off to a good start when she arrived at the premiere of her new movie with the hem of her grey thigh-split gown soaking wet after falling victim to the rainy weather.
Despite the unsightly blunder, the 29-year-old beautiful actress did her best to put on a brave face as she posed up a storm for her big red carpet moment. But with one leg jutting out of her dress at a strange angle while the sodden hem draped on the floor, the overall effect was a little more awkward than Angelina. However, things went from bad to worse for the blonde star - who plays Susie Browning in the new movie - when she embarked upon her strut down the red carpet.
As Kellie picked up the swathes of material to ensure she didn't step on her gown, a gust of wind blew the dress completely open, leaving her black underwear and sheer tights fully exposed for all to see. To add to her woes, the star almost gave fans more than they bargained for when she came precariously close to spilling out of the plunging gown altogether as she attempted to cover her modesty. Ever the professional even in situations of the most cringe-worthy order, an assistant quickly rectified the situation as the actress covered up her embarrassment with a giggle.
In spite of her inadvertent knicker-flash and general red carpet blunder, there's no denying Kellie cut a glamorous figure as she joined Sarah and Denise on the red carpet. But it would seem she was keen to steady her pre-premiere nerves with a few glasses of bubbly before stepping out in her daring dress. Writing on her Twitter page, Kellie said: 'Second glass of prosecco before it all kicks off @RunForYourWife.' And it wouldn't appear as though her red carpet fail will be causing her too many sleepless nights, with the star tweeting after the bash: 'what a night! Xx.'
Sensible Kellie guaranteed avoiding another over-exposure moment by changing into a less daring number for the afterparty at London's Cafe De Paris. Showing off her toned pins in a black lace and feather detail minidress, the actress looked much more comfortable in her party frock. Teaming the LBD with a pair of cute coral suede platform heels and a gunmetal grey draped leather jacket, Kellie certainly looked ready to party.
Run For Your Wife, adapted from Ray Cooney's popular 1983 stage play of the same name, sees Sarah play Stephanie Smith, a housewife in Finsbury, North London, unaware her taxi driver husband John (Danny Dyer) has a second life - and second wife Michelle (Denise) in Stockwell, South London. The story sees John's double life unravelling and his desperate attempts to stop his two wives coming face-to-face.
