makes splash with first swimsuit spread
after taking tips from model mother Kim Basinger.She signed with IMG Models last month, and Ireland Baldwin kicked off her modeling career with a sizzling swimsuit spread on Thursday. The 17-year-old daughter of Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger showcased her statuesque figure in a variety of candy-coloured bikinis while aboard an 80-foot yacht on the Hudson River. The platinum blonde even braved New York's chilly 40-degree temperatures while looking every bit the pro for her first big shoot the New York Post. Ireland flaunted her long pins and ample curves in everything from a sunny yellow two-piece, red halter bikini, and a beige snakeskin one-piece. 'Shooting with the famous Patrick DeMarchelier today! I'm incredibly blessed,' Baldwin tweeted on Thursday to her 30,000 followers. Before now, Ireland was best remembered in the media as 'a thoughtless little pig' courtesy of her famous father's furious 2007 phone rant. It's ironic that she chose to make her debut in the NY Post since the 30 Rock funnyman has had a notoriously torrid relationship with the publication. However she and Alec 'text and talk on the phone all the time' now, and they celebrated his 55th birthday together after his Broadway play, Orphans, last Monday. 'I think he's very outspoken and he has his opinions, and he's him and I'm me, and I know he's done things that he regrets himself and that he's sorry for, but you know, the past is the past.' She also tells the Post that her relationship with her dad is fine and that they 'text and talk on the phone all the time.' However, Ireland has yet to introduce her father to her new boyfriend, stand-up paddle boarder Slater Trout, whom she met on Instagram. Baldwin is looking forward to being a 'badass older sister' to Alec's daughter with new wife Hilaria Thomas, who's due this summer. She said, 'It’s going to be fun, I think, for her to have that somewhat kind of badass older sister who will take you to your first concert and give you a fake ID and all that. The newly-signed model then added: 'I’m going to be much, much older than her. I’ve learned from my youth and I want her to not make the same mistakes. But she will. We all do.' The blonde bombshell, who works out twice a day, currently lives with her Oscar-winning mother in Los Angeles while finishing her senior year via an independent study program. 'My mom’s very happy she can finally give me tips,' Baldwin told People magazine in February. 'She’s always there, so she’ll stand in the back and say, "Turn your head this way, or do this!"'
Ireland, who plans on attending college, eventually wants to transition from modeling to acting like Basinger in the hopes of becoming 'the next Tina Fey.' 'I want to do everything the right way,' Baldwin said. 'Rather than getting involved with different projects and films that I’m not ready for and starting off on the wrong foot, I want to work my way up.' Alec and Kim divorced in 2002 after nearly a decade together. He'll next star in Woody Allen's Blue Jasmine - due out July 26 - with Cate Blanchette, Louis CK, Peter Sarsgaard, and Sally Hawkins.
