    HMS Bounty
crew member dies after ship was sunk by Hurricane Sandy.

A female member of storm-hit HMS Bounty has been pronounced dead in hospital after being saved at sea.

Officials said Claudene Christian, 42, had been unresponsive when taken from the water in a dramatic helicopter rescue. The ship's captain is still missing, but 14 crew members were rescued. The ship, which was built for the 1962 Marlon Brando Hollywood movie sank in the path of the hurricane.

HMS Bounty flounders approximately 90 miles southeast of Hatteras, North Carolina.

The boat, which was also used in a Pirates of the Caribbean film, went down in storm-lashed seas off the North Carolina coast. The three-masted ship had sailed from Connecticut last week for Florida. It began taking on water and the crew had to abandon it in 18ft waves early yesterday.
